The public is asked to participate in a naming contest for the Little Rock Zoo’s baby boy chimpanzee born this summer to its eldest chimpanzee, Mahale.
Applications for the naming contest can be found at www.littlerockzoo.com or can be picked-up at the Zoo’s Safari Trader Gift Shop. All entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009. Zoo keepers will select their top three choices and the public will then be asked to vote for their favorite. The top three winners will be announced on November 16, 2009.
Mother and baby are doing well and can now be seen together on exhibit, weather permitting.
Names for the baby chimp are preferred to be of African origin but any submission is welcome.
