A Monkey has attacked more than 25 people
DAVANAGERE: A monkey attacked more than 25 people in two villages of Harapanahalli taluk of Davanagere district in the last two days. Around 10 days ago, a monkey which was spotted in Hiremegalagere, moved to the adjacent village, Pothalakatte and began attacking the people.
It looked very ferocious and did not allow any other monkeys near it. The victims are being treated in the nearby PHCs. The people are afraid to go to their fields fearing attack from the monkey. "It is difficult to predict the movement of the monkey as it moves erratically," said Anjinappa, a villager.
Though forest officials were summoned to the spot, they failed to capture the monkey. Even the local school had declared a two-day holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday, fearing for the safety of the students of the school school, said sources.
