Three Children Attacked By Monkey
KUANTAN, Nov 23 (Bernama) -- Three children were attacked by a male monkey at Taman Murni, Sungai Isap near here in the past two days.
Fatini Sakira Ahmad Safri, 2, was bitten by the monkey this morning while Khairul Azwan Khairudin, 14, and Nuha Nurfaiqah Sheikh Akhbar, 7, were set upon Sunday night.
Fatini Sakira was bitten on her inner left thigh and hand while playing with her older sister at their grandfather's house at 8am.
Khairul Azwan was attacked while having a dinner with his family at a foodstall near their house while Nuha Nurfaiqah was set upon at her auntie's house.
Fatini Sakira's grandfather, Mohamad Yassin Khalid, 62, said the monkey entered his house through the front door, which was left opened.
"I was leaving the house to buy breakfast when I heard Fatini's screaming. I rushed back into the house and saw the monkey biting her.
"I reached for a machete to shoo it away," he said when met at his house Monday.
Khairul Azwan, a Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bukit Rangin student, who was attacked at about 9pm, received six stitches on his right arm.
Nuha Nurfaiqah, a Kebangsaan Jaya Gading student, who was attacked half an hour later, had just arrived at her auntie's house when she was bitten on both hands and legs.
The monkey could have been attracted by a chocolate bar held by Nuha Nurfaiqah, said her mother, Nor Jahan Ahmad, 38.
